Maritime Security

Our maritime security services range extends through 10 Shore-based Maritime Security Providing Stations and 03 Floating Armouries as illustrated in the service chart We provide single service or multi-service maritime security packages to suit customer requirements, and customers have the option of selecting one service or a combination of services from the following list of services:

• Sea Marshals (Armed Security Personnel)

  We facilitate Maritime Security Companies providing well-trained and experienced Sea Marshals (Armed Security Personnel) with years of exposures in 'Anti Piracy' and 'Counter-terrorism operations at sea' from any of the locations indicated in our service map. Sea Marshals carry authentic weapons, ammunition and accessories, with End-User Certificates (EUCs) and they could be made available for:

  • Maritime Security Companies authorized to undertake maritime security transit contracts.
  • Ship Owners and Ship Management Companies which desire to obtain any of our services.

   


• Weapons, Ammunition and Accessories

  We provide well-maintained and highly reliable weapons, ammunition and other related accessories owned by government business entity Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Ltd. (RALL), functioning under the Ministry of Defence of Sri Lanka, or from other legitimate sources, to Ship owners, Ship Managers and companies authorized to undertake maritime security transit contracts. The accompanying features are indicated below.

  • All weapons, ammunition and accessories issued from Sri Lanka are with EUC s, issued by the Government of Sri Lanka.
  • Weapons and ammunition are accompanied by an authorised custodian and moved (transferred) with EUCs.
  • Our customers can collect weapons, ammunition and Sea Marshals/ Teams from any of the 13 Service Providing Stations.
  • All weapons and accessories are well-maintained and safely stored at all times in safe custody in armouries located in 13 Service Providing Stations.
  • Scale of issue can be as per the need of the customer or as per our "Standard Scale of Issue"
  • The following additional accessories are also available on customer request.
    • Night Vision Equipment
    • Portable VHF Radio Communication Sets
    • Flash Lights

   


• Embarkation, disembarkation and lodging for Sea Marshals in-transit

  We would make arrangements to extend following facilities for Sea Marshals-in-transit from any of the locations indicated in our service map

  • Embarkation and disembarkation of Sea Marshals in-transit.
  • Sea Port/Place of lodging to Air Port transportation.
  • Making arrangements to provide lodging when ashore.

   


• Facilities to Accept, Store and Issue Weapons, Ammunition and Accessories

  If you are interested only in obtaining the services to facilitate safe custody and storing of your weapons, ammunition and accessories, still we could assist you by meeting your requirement, provided, your company is authorized to undertake maritime security transit contracts. The following accompanying services are provided through our 13 Service Providing Stations

  • Make arrangements for embarkation and disembarkation of Sea Marshals, authentic weapons, ammunition and accessories.
  • Make arrangements for the acceptance, storage and reissue of authentic weapons, ammunition and accessories belongs to the companies engaged in maritime security.

  Because our services at OPL: There is:

  • No need for the vessel to anchor
  • No anchorage rent/charges
  • No port call is registered and vessel can proceed without any delays
  • No major deviation from the main shipping lanes

  When vessels are crossing the Indian Ocean, Galle - Sri Lanka is the ideal location for handling personnel on board
